6 Ups & 3 Downs From This Week's NWA Powerrr (Nov 5)

3. Nick Aldis Playing The Room

The first thing that the NWA did when it began its weekly journey with NWA Powerrr, was make Nick Aldis, as the NWA Worlds Champion, feel as important as any champion in the industry right now.

Sure, Billy Corgan, Dave Lagana and co. have done their part in how they present their main champion, but Aldis has stepped up to the plate in such an impressive way. To be more precise, there are very few World Champions in recent memory who carry themselves as well or present themselves as well as The National Treasure.

With the fifth episode of NWA Powerrr, Aldis was phenomenal in how he was clearly playing the game. From week to week, we’ve seen the current holder of the iconic Ten Pounds of Gold slowly start to manipulate his situation, and this was again expanded on brilliantly this week – not least in how we saw Aldis sweet talking Tim Storm and lay the foundations for Storm to question his own relationship with Eli Drake.

Eli Drake, of course, seems like the most logical person to next step up and challenge for the NWA Worlds Championship – which is why Aldis s**t-talking Eli was the perfect smarmy move to make.
