6 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Hell In A Cell 2022

4. The Judgment Day Stands Tall

The promos are terrible, the presentation is weird and it’s unclear whether WWE has figured out how to book them, but The Judgment Day needed a win Sunday night at Hell in a Cell, and they got it.

The trio won a mixed tag match against Liv Morgan, Finn Balor and AJ Styles when Rhea Ripley put herself between Edge and Balor, with the Prince preparing to hit the Coup de Grace. That distraction allowed Edge to dodge the move and hit a spear for the win.

During the match itself, everyone did a fine job, with Morgan especially stepping up her game for a big match. She hit an assisted hurricanrana to open the match, then nailed another one later, followed by crucifix bomb for a near-fall.

If WWE could stop the directionless promos that are less the ramblings of a cult leader and more than writings of a madman with a thesaurus, we’d all be better off. But for Sunday, good on the result.
