6 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Raw (28 April - Results & Review)

2. Talk Talk Talk Talk Talk…

It’s completely understandable to expect that Raw would need several talking segments to properly establish new feuds as WWE charts its path forward in the wake of WrestleMania 41, but holy mother of God, Raw might as well have replaced the ring with a couple of couches, an end table, and some fake ferns.

A 150-minute episode of Raw featured just four matches and a litany of talking. The show opened with the traditional in-ring yapper between Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn, but there would be plenty more talking segments, with Logan Paul and Jey Uso, Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch, and Pat McAfee eating up huge chunks of time. That doesn’t take into account numerous backstage segments with Sami Zayn, the Judgment Day, and others, and another lengthy Rollins/Zayn exchange before the main event.

On their own, several of these outings were actually pretty good, but collectively, they turned Raw into an exposition-heavy program that needed a better layout and pacing.
