6 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Raw (Aug 1)

1. Still Not Entirely In

Sorry, but until this actually leads somewhere good, Edge’s return to Raw Monday night just felt flat.

Probably the biggest detriment is that he’s trying to “kill” the Judgement Day, a faction that has been just a couple steps above 3MB or the Social Outcasts lately. Judgement Day lost to the Mysterios twice in a six-day span last week (Raw and SummerSlam). They literally haven’t won a tag match in since Finn Balor took over Edge’s role.

So why should we fear this trio? Why should we consider them a threat? Maybe if they had beaten Rey & Dominik on Raw and dominated at SummerSlam, but even then, two months of feuding with the Mysterios hasn’t been kind to the faction.

With Edge setting his sights on the group he created, it just feels like he’s punching down and made things feel underwhelming. His heel turn was ill-advised, and then he was just written off via conchairto out of the blue, and poof!... he’s a babyface again.

Resets need to happen, but this one just isn’t getting any buys right now.
