6 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (10 May - Results & Review)

2. A Bit Of A Grind

Nia Jax Naomi

There were a few sloppy spots during Nia Jax vs. Naomi, but the match had potential on paper. 'That was awful' seems to be the default response to most Nia matches before they've even happened, which is rather unfair. She's actually been decent since returning to the company. Decent would be a compliment to what she and Naomi mustered here though.

The bout was arguably a little too long for what it was. WWE handed both women around 10 minutes, but it's strange 'cause Nia could've used the squash match feel Bianca Belair vs. Candice LeRae had later on in the show. It was honestly a tad ambitious to give Jax and Naomi so much time when they had such a slow layout.

At times, it felt like they were running through mud.

Some pesky miscommunication issues also forced Naomi to think on the fly, and everything felt...off. If one's being generous, he'd say they're capable of better, but some combos just don't jive. Maybe Jax vs. Naomi is one of them. Oh well, onto the next!
