3. A Vast Improvement For Trick & Fenix

Trick Williams vs. Rey Fenix II was a lot better than their first match on the 9 January SmackDown. Personally, this fan thought that was a tad disjointed and it looked like they just wouldn’t have chemistry together, but things were different here. Fenix is lost in the shuffle and has become a go-to jobber to the stars, but he’s still good in-ring. The next step is surely putting Trick in Elimination Chamber over guys like Damian Priest too.

If WWE is serious about building fresh main roster stars, then that’s the kind of thing they need to be doing. Williams has incredible potential. He's a star on the rise, is getting meaty reactions from crowds (people love chanting: "Whoop That Trick" over and over), and 'Trick Willy' looks every bit a main eventer in waiting from head to toe. Why wait much longer with him?

Back to the match at hand. Rey’s double stomp spot from the ring post looked excellent, and he generally got to show off more of his aerials here than in the first match. That was always going to improve things. Fenix is wasted when he's on the mat for 90% of the bout. His strengths? Flying around the place showing nimble footwork on the ropes and coming agonisingly close to making high risks pay off.

Williams seemed to understand how to position himself for Rey's acrobatics this time, and that made the match a much better watch overall. It's legitimately nice to see guys who struggled before get into a groove. Improving on what came before is all you can ask workers to do.
