3. The Bellas Disappoint
Nia Jax and Lash Legend vs. Nikki and Brie Bella wasn’t it, man.
Nikki’s out here talking about how she wants the same retirement treatment John Cena and AJ Styles got, then she’s working matches like this?! Her comeback run has been mediocre at best since last year, and the only hope was putting her in tags with Brie. Fingers crossed they’ve got more in their locker than this, because Friday wasn’t a great comeback for the team. That was rotten for a first televised tag since 2018.
Personally, this fan has no real issues with the DQ finish even if was predictable, but the action itself was tepid at best. If anything, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss getting involved from ringside helped The Irresistible Forces and Bella Twins out, because they were stinking up the joint with a spotty bout that only survived because the live crowd in Raleigh, North Carolina were into the idea of seeing The Twins.
Brie has ring rust aplenty (which is understandable), so she maybe gets a pass here. Nikki doesn't have that excuse though, and neither do Jax or Lash. Legend arguably gets less of the blame because she doesn't have the same experience, but...this wasn't very good. Nikki struggled vs. Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer in 2025. Don't tell us she isn't even going to shine with her sister?!
Roll on next week's disqualification result when Flair and Bliss take on Nikki and Brie. Wonder who'll poke their nose in on that match, eh? Seriously though, this week's affair was rough.
