6 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Dec 4)
1. Bayley Loses (For Some Reason)
The ultimate goal for Bayley's feud with Bianca Belair must be to elevate the latter.
If so, it's a winning idea that could help Belair become the star WWE believe she can be in this division. The truth is that she also needs someone strong to beat, and SmackDown's writers aren't exactly giving her the strongest Bayley possible - this week's show was a step in the wrong direction.
Bayley jobbed to Natalya, and then Bianca laughed at her. That was it. If WWE think a loser version of the longest-running Women's Champ of her generation is going to help Belair bed in on SmackDown, then they need to reevaluate how they plan to build fresh faces.
If anything, Bayley shouldn't have lost until facing Belair one-on-one. Any chance of building a believable story that sees this ex-champ cut down to size by a super-talented newcomer has been lost. Now, Bianca beating Bayley means less. Great.
