6 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Oct 2)

Ups...

6. Lucha Bros

Matt Riddle Lucha House Party
WWE

Matt Riddle's SmackDown run is in real jeopardy already, but he still has a smile on his face and seems motivated to prove himself to WWE higher-ups. That's cool, and so was the harmless fun provided by his nifty little six-man tag-team match with Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik against 'King' Corbin, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura.

Wait...Lucha House Party and 'Bro' chat. Lucha Bros.

That had to be a deliberate AEW reference, right? There's no way WWE didn't think of that when they were putting this one together or scripting Riddle to bang on about how the Lucha lads are his "Bros". One almost expects AEW to retort on the next edition of Dynamite by taking the p*ss out of New Day or something.

For what it was, the six man was a good laugh. It didn't eat up too much time, got Riddle his win back and furthered the split angle between Kalisto and his high-flying partners.
