6 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Sept 9)

Ups...

6. Zero Problems With This

Thankfully, there was no outright squashing on the male tag-team side of things. Despite everyone and their dog knowing that the babyfaces would win here, at least Maximum Male Models and Los Lotharios were allowed to look somewhat competitive before taking the 'L'.

That's important, because WWE's aim with both heel squads should be prolonging the pretence that they could someday be kings of the doubles division. Why not? Christ, Heath Slater and Rhyno were the first ever SmackDown Tag-Team Champs. Anything is possible!

Friday's eight-man was one of the show's better bouts. The right quartet won, of course, but MMM, Angel and Humberto got some licks in before going down for the count. Now, the E's next challenge is elevating Hit Row (in particular) to that next level so they can challenge The Usos.

That's surely on the cards.
