6 Ups & 4 Downs For WWE Raw (13 Oct - Results & Review)

3. It’s Like Festus, But With Slaps

WWE Raw Lyra Valkyria Bayley

Give WWE partial credit, as they’re clearly trying to reposition the Bayley “split personality” storyline as a Jekyll/Hyde deal, while it’s less about voices in her head and more about a docile Bayley and a vicious side of the superstar.

Lyra Valkyria continued in her role as the hapless friend who wants to walk away but can’t quit Bayley. During their perfectly serviceable tag match against the Judgment Day, Lyra tried to revive Bayley and finally slapped her across the face, which apparently woke up her “Hyde” side. Bayley went ballistic, demolishing both former women’s tag champs and single-handedly picking up the win for her team.

Afterward, the two celebrated, as Bayley’s abusive side seems to have subsided.

The action here was perfectly fine, save for a bit of clunkiness in the opening moments. Valkyria and Roxanne Perez shine just about every time they’re out there, Raquel Rodriguez continues to be a stable presence, and Bayley has seemingly found what she was missing a few months ago.

The negatives rest almost entirely with the remnants of this dismal split personality story, which WWE insists on trying to clean up rather than just wrap up.
