6 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Collision (Nov 17 - Results & Review)

3. A Typically Slick Piece Of MJF Business

Did Collision need to close with MJF's sit-down interview? No, not really. In fact, finishing with the big tag melee might've been better, but man...Friedman is damn good at putting a bow on things. The way he ran the gauntlet of emotions from concerned about Jay White to typically smug was excellent character work.

Simple, but effective.

Echoes of the old Max appeared as he took the p*ss out of Tony Schiavone before returning to a more grounded, likeable guise when discussing his friendship with Adam Cole. Throughout, one got the sense that MJF was a cornered animal, and that set the scene for what happened right at the end of Rampage with Samoa Joe.

He spoke of doing Cole proud by retaining their ROH Tag-Team Titles, then got a little more animated when 'Switchblade' was brought into the conversation. This was an old-school promo in presentation and execution, and it sold two title matches really, really well.
