6 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Feb 24)

4. Dynamite Goes Dark

Jake Hager Brandon Cutler

Jake Hager vs. Brandon Cutler was a mostly fine competitive squash in which The Big Hurt showed off some mean, stiff offense on the Young Bucks affiliate, including effortless deadlift wheelbarrow suplexes and some starchy clotheslines, one of which finished Cutler off. A solid bit of business all-round.

For Dark.

This was AEW's web series through and through, and felt like no more than a filler bridge to the superb angle that followed. It was unnecessary. Dark exists and there are other ways AEW could have reached the Papa Buck angle, so why have it on Dynamite?

An odd choice that contributed towards the show's stuttering start. Speaking of which...
