6 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Feb 24)

3. Moxley Flattens A Hunk

Starting with a hot match is a Dynamite signature. Starting with a so-so semi-competitive squash in which a slippery heel opponent scored a little more offense on a supercharged World Title contender staring down the barrel of an Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch? Less so.

Again, this wasn't bad. Jon Moxley shoved Ryan Nemeth down and slapped him around, extinguished his every comeback, and softened him up for the Paradigm Shift with a standing guillotine. All fine and well, but Dynamite felt like it started in first gear rather than fourth or fifth, which is how it usually hits, and the show struggled to get going after it.

Positioning all these squashes so closely together made for a wonky first hour that exploded to life through awesome angles then felt like it was slowing down again as soon as we returned to the ring. That started with Nemeth vs. Moxley, which could have done with defter positioning.
