Props to Christian Cage, as the new World Champion made Brian Myers and Sam Beale look like a star package during this segment.
'The Instant Classic' was met with a warm reaction as he sauntered out. His promo ticked every box; beginning by noting how IMPACT took an opportunity on him when he departed WWE in 2005, Christian seemed legitimately grateful to be back in IMPACT. He acknowledged the legacy of the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, before he retired the title belt, keeping just the IMPACT title as a recognised title.
Cue Myers and Beale to enter. The former Curt Hawkins jokingly referenced the likes of D-Ray 3000 and Shark Boy coming back a la Christian, though mocking the infamous Brown Bag Specials perhaps could have gone amiss considering the current health status of Don West. Myers and Cage got into it, with the former noting how he's been tearing IMPACT up for the past year.
It was Christian's comments that made this promo great, however. Poking fun at Brian's studded entrance vest, arm pose, and Sam Beale in general, Christian deemed himself the best pro wrestler. A quick end saw Myers shove Sam into Christian, as he fled the ring.
Christian reinstated himself as an all-time great promo guy here, while Myers and Beale worked wonderfully, too. Myers heads into Emergence as a credible World Championship contender as a result, which, needless to say, was required given his year of meaningless mini-feuds.
