6 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (19 August)

5. The Lion Sleeps Tonight

Don't be fooled; Matt Cardona vs. Shera isn't an Up because it was a great match, but simply because it wasn't a terrible one. It was fine. Just that. It set the right tone for Cardona vs. Rohit Raju at Emergence, while also giving the former Zack Ryder a win over a big beefy boy. Good stuff.

Rohit's presence at ringside resulted in Shera dominating chunks of this match. One spot saw Shera executed a delightful Chokeslam across the knee, with a boot also knocking Cardona to ringside. Once Cardona mounted his comeback, Rohit again got on the apron, thwarted by Chelsea Green slapping him in the face. A middle-rope Radio Silence ended Shera's night.

Again, this was nothing special, but it worked to set up Cardona vs. Raju. As of this writing, there's no word on why, exactly, 'The Desi Hitman' has an issue with Cardona, and thus, the story relies solely on the quality of the in-ring work. This was fine; Emergence will require a bit more if Cardona and Raju are to have a worthwhile encounter.
