6 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (3 June)

2. A Match Of Two Halves

Fire N Flava’s third outing with Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering almost never worked. The first half was too slow, didn’t hit the right spot, and lacked general enthusiasm from all involved. That the highlight of this time was Tasha Steelz using Ellering’s headband as a means of pulling her off her feet is a disgrace.

Once it picked up, however, it had the makings of a banger.

Everyone had some gorgeous offence throughout, with Jordynne’s Doctor Bomb and Tasha’s Codebreaker being notable. Once Rachael was laid out via DDT on the arena floor, though, the ending was inevitable. Steelz flattened Grace with a neat Frog Splash, all while ‘Thicc Mama Pump’ was laying atop Kiera Hogan; Fire N Flava proved they’ll do anything to retain their titles, regardless of if their partner is in a perilous situation. That makes them look credible.

Much like Jake Something vs. Rohit Raju, this is surely the ending to this story arc, with Hogan and Steelz set to tangle with Kimber Lee and Susan at Against All Odds. A fine way to end the arc if that is the case, with an obvious aftermath for Grace and Ellering to follow. Everything was fulfilled here.
