6 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (3 June)

3. Jake, Get The Tables!

Jake Something and Rohit Raju didn’t work their tables match like a tables match, but rather a match that happened to involve putting your opponent through a table for the win. It ruled, naturally.

Rohit, surprisingly, dominated Jake for chunks of this match, executing his vast array of strikes to wear down the Deaner cousin (that sliding knee never gets old). ‘The Desi Hitman’ was, quite simply, a d*ck, from getting some steel chairs involved to hitting Something in his little Jakes. His work was great; that double stomp on the chairs was phenomenal, for example. He was never going to win, though, taking two impactful Black Hole Slams before being sent through a table via Spear.

This was inarguably one of the far more fun tables matches ever promoted because, as was outlined in the opening paragraph, it wasn’t fought as a tables match. This ensured its success. What seemed on paper like a needless continuation of the Raju vs. Something rivalry turned into a cracking little bout. It’s surely over between the duo now, of course, but what a way to end it.
