6 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Oct 27)
1. Myers Falls Again
Brian Myers arriving in Impact Wrestling should have been the thing he needed to relaunch his career after spending several years being severely held back by WWE. Unfortunately, though, it's not quite as simple as that, as 'The Most Professional Wrestler' has instead been used predominantly to fill space on the card, either in meaningless matches or in tedious rivalries.
Myers' feud with Tommy Dreamer rolled on this week in a Hardcore Halloween Match, with 'The Innovator of Violence' again paying tribute to Road Warrior Animal with the face paint, shoulder-padded entrance jacket, and t-shirt. The match itself wasn't actually the worst thing ever, as both men used all manner of weaponry at their disposal, although there was a bit too much groin-based offence throughout. Swoggle emerged from a bin towards the end of the bout, grabbing Myers' groin with a pair of barbecue tongs, leading to the former Curt Hawkins being driven through a table for the win.
Why Brian Myers lost the match is a mystery. He desperately needs something meaningful to keep him occupied. He certainly shouldn't be losing to 49-year-olds, even if it is through nefarious means at the hands of 'The King of Small Style'. At least it continues the storyline progression from Bound For Glory, where Myers eliminated both Dreamer and Swoggle.
Aside from that? This needs to end before we reach the end of the year.
