6 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's NXT (19 Feb)
4. Grizzly, There
Some week's I adore the binary Good/Bad function of Ups and Downs. Other weeks I wish dearly that I had something a little more nuanced to help break down a particular segment. This week, and particularly this where Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde take on the Grizzled Young Veterans, it's the latter.
In short, this was perfectly adequate. But if NXT really are going to give a platform to the Grizzled Young Veterans then they gain absolutely nothing by battering two lads half their size. In fairness, there's not exactly a long line of established tag-teams in NXT at present, but a victory of more substance would have been the order of the day here.
And yet, it worked. The team gets the win, can move on from here and Zack Gibson was given a microphone. He might have only been allowed to deliver a handful of lines, but as ever he did more with them than half of the roster does in a month.
