Mauro Ranallo's return to NXT last week was a godsend for anyone who values quality commentary with their wrestling. Accidentally referring to Bobby Fish as 'Roderick Strong' during the first match only served to emphasise how rare it is that he messes up. Perhaps most refreshingly Ranallo isn't afraid to call moves as if - whisper it - he was commentating on a legitimate combat sport.

Nigel McGuinness has grown in confidence as well since his introduction around the United Kingdom Championship tournament. His form of colour commentary is to flesh out the backgrounds of the performers, including their histories (part of the new WWE policy of accepting other promotions exist), training and fighting styles. The two work together to make the performers sound like dangerous and storied competitors. Above all the NXT team show respect for the wrestlers and make it easy to buy into the impact of what is happening in the ring.

Percy Watson is still there but he rarely pipes up, and as uninteresting as his observations are at least they aren't offensive and he doesn't do much to detract from the pairing of Ranallo and McGuinness.
