It's hard to go wrong with any ladder match. When it comes to an NXT ladder match, however, you're pretty much guaranteed a jolly good time. That's exactly what we got here as this collection of performers, each equipped with seriously contrasting styles, did their utmost to put on a show.

In a way, this contest felt like a passing of the torch of sorts. Though Johnny Gargano and Velveteen Dream both undoubtedly had their moments to shine (whether you liked it or not) the real focus was on the next generation.

Bronson Reed, sporting an aesthetic tribute to Bam Bam Bigelow, threw himself around like the star he was paying homage to and provided us with one of the most inventive spots of the night. As Candice LeRae attempted to stop him in his tracks high up on a ladder, Reed decided to take her with him as he splashed her husband from a great height.

Cameron Grimes also managed to seize the moment, playing the annoying little sh*t to perfection and taking a gnarly ladder-assisted sunset flip powerbomb for his troubles.

But it was none other than 'The Archer of Infamy' Damian Priest who left the building as your new North American Champion, after booting the Wednesday Knight out of the picture. The manner of his victory may open the door up for an immediate Gargano/Priest showdown in the near future, but make no mistake: This match belonged to the stars of tomorrow, and the future looks bright for the North American title scene.
