6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE NXT Spring Breakin' (23 April - Results & Review)

2. Blood Feud?

Blair Davenport Sol Ruca
WWE

Blair Davenport cost Sol Ruca a year of her career. She has continued to target the surfer girl since she returned to NXT recently.

So, how does Ruca respond when she gets Blair in a no-DQ beach brawl? She waffles Davenport repeatedly with a foam wake board and uses an inflatable pool tube to “trap” her arms and throw beach balls at her head. The comedy spots in their grudge match thankfully all came in the beginning of the contest, but it still took you out of the belief that this was the climax to a serious feud. It felt like one of those Miracle on 34th Street fight matches WWE loves to book on the Christmas episode of Raw.

Sol did get proper aggressive as the match wore on, using a moonsault and a backpack stunner through a table to rock Blair before putting her away with the Sol Snatcher. But by then, we had seen a couple comedy spots too many.

This wasn’t a bad match, and if you could excise the first half, you’d actually have a pretty decent little brawl. Overall though, this fell short of what it could have and should have been.
