6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (29 Aug)
2. The Seeds Are Planted
The moment Edge returned to save the Mysterios from The Judgment Day, you could feel the countdown clock starting up on Dominik Mysterio getting fed up at playing second fiddle in his dad’s eyes.
And Monday, we got probably the biggest wedge to drive between the two yet. When Rey and Dom helped Edge clear out Judgment Day, Dominik found himself face-to-face with his recent tormenter, Rhea Ripley. The younger Mysterio gave in to her and handed over his kendo stick, which was just a strange situation as if she had a spell over him.
Later, we learned that Rey and Edge will face Finn Balor and Damian Priest at Clash at the Castle, with Rey telling Dominik that Edge is like family, and he needs the Rated-R Superstar’s experience in the tag match, essentially putting his son down. Dom agreed to be in their corner for the match, but you could tell he was upset at being left out and overlooked.
If ever there was a time to pull the trigger on Dominik ditching his dad, this would be it.
