6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (Sept 19)

4. Well-Timed Payback

When Seth Rollins was announced as Bobby Lashley’s latest challenger for the United States Championship, you immediately have to wonder how they get to a conclusion that doesn’t detail either man’s momentum.

Enter Matt Riddle.

In this case, the Original Bro’s interference was well-timed. Rollins was locked in a vicious battle, but he also was caught in the Hurt Lock seemingly with no escape. Seth managed to land a low blow and looked poised to stomp Lashley into oblivion, but Riddle ran down to ringside, distracting Rollins long enough for Lashley to recover and spear him for the win.

While the basis for the Rollins/Riddle feud continuing might be suspect – Rollins won cleanly after frustrating Riddle and taking him off his game – on a grander scale, Seth had attacked Riddle mercilessly for weeks before their Clash at the Castle match.

And all of this has now set up a match at Extreme Rules, so there’s that.
