If you’re going to promote a tag title match as a big deal, you might want your challengers to look like a legit threat who stand a chance of toppling dominant champs.

So, booking the Brawling Brutes on Raw to face the Street Profits is a pretty nice move. (Although, the match was seemingly an impromptu clash rather than a scheduled one, so we’ll dock a couple points there.)

Butch and Ridge Holland face an uphill battle to defeat the Usos on SmackDown on Friday, but it didn’t hurt that they had a fun, super-competitive match with the Profits, drawing fans in and getting them behind the action.

Whether that carries over to SmackDown remains to be seen, but this was a nice effort from everyone and gives the Brutes a bit of shine before their big title match.
