6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (31 Jan)

3. Skewed Logic

The four-way tag match to determine new number one contenders for New Day's SmackDown Tag belts wasn't elimination style, so why in the name of Christmas hams did everyone willingly tag other guys in? It didn't make much sense.

At one point, Corey Graves noted that Lucha House Party man Lince Dorado was "in a bad way", so he "had to tag in anybody". No! Why would he risk losing the match even if he was hurt? Surely, it'd be preferable for a title-hungry wrestler to fail on his own terms rather than hoping someone wouldn't get pinned or submitted before he recovered.

There was no logic here.

It made matters worse than this match was important. The Lucha lads should be breaking their necks to earn a crack at the SmackDown Tag-Team Titles, not gleefully tagging out of the match just because they need to sell a big bump. Other teams did it too. Maddening.
