6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (31 Jan)

5. Sheamus Moves On

The biggest surprise on SmackDown was that Michael Cole and Corey Graves weren't instructed to say things like, 'Sheamus made short work of Shorty G' and, 'Now Sheamus can move on to bigger things'. Hahahahahahaha. Aren't height jokes just the best?

You're right, they're not.

In all seriousness, Sheamus running through Chad Gable for the second time in a week was the right call. The Irishman has another big (that wasn't another height gag, honest) run in him, and his feud with Shorty was always going to be a brief one. Now it's done, Sheamus can target the Intercontinental Title or maybe take part in an Elimination Chamber match.

One thing's for sure: WWE have to get more out of Sheamus that they did in this fleeting rivalry. It didn't quite lead to the great matches this fan expected it too, and it didn't exactly heap sympathy on Gable the way WWE might've liked.
