6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (April 30)

4. Sometimes, Heels Disagree!

Sami Zayn Apollo Crews Commander Azeez

On the surface, Sami Zayn running out to help Apollo Crews doesn't make much sense. Then, it clicks. Sami has been obsessively talking about how conspiracy theories wrecked his own IC Title reign for months, so it was logical to see him staring a hole through the belt before handing it back to Crews.

Azeez dropped him for showing disrespect to the champ too.

Here's the thing: WWE often pretend that every babyface and every heel gets along with those sitting on the same side of the fence. That's totally unrealistic, and it's nice when they buck that long-established trend every now and then. Crews shouldn't be happy that Zayn put his paws on his belt, and Sami should want what Apollo has.

Heels don't need to get along 100% of the time, basically. Cue Zayn trying to keep his enemies closer by sucking up to Azeez and Apollo over the next few weeks. Then, treachery! At least Crews has a few challengers nipping at his heels.
