6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Sept 30)

Downs...

4. Could’ve Done Without The Set-Up

Everyone and their granny could see some sort of multi-man coming as soon as Alpha Academy strolled to the ring with a smug Austin Theory. The two-minute scuffle Theory then had with Drew McIntyre wasn't really necessary when the booking was so telegraphed.

Johnny Gargano and Kevin Owens did get big pops though.

This fan has no issues Wirth the main event six-man (more on that later), but he's not sure Drew needs to be diluting his attentions when he has Karrion Kross and a 'Strap Match' coming up next week. Shouldn't the big Scot's full focus be on that scenario rather than Theory's arrogance?

Some may argue that this set-up was better than some mindless promo train, and that's fair, but it just didn't need to happen. Having Austin challenge McIntyre to find some pals and meet him in the headline spot would've sufficed.
