4. Truth Gets His Moment

This column has been hard on R-Truth through the past several months, and while that’s not personal, it still is something that is tough to reconcile, because Truth really comes across as a good, decent dude who has done a lot of entertaining stuff through the years.

Putting the tag titles on him and Miz seems like a half-baked idea, rewarding him for a lifetime of work, but also putting a title that was in the main event of last year’s WrestleMania around the waist of a comedy wrestler.

Still, WWE found a way to make it palatable, by splitting up the titles for the first time in nearly two years and having Awesome Truth win the Raw half of the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship in a ladder match. No one was pinned or embarrassed in the process, and there is a second tag team holding gold at the same time.

The six-team ladder match was a fun, chaotic match that worked pretty well. There were plenty of car crash spots to entertain fans, and everyone got moments to shine, including Truth, who “tagged in” to the match and tried to pin Finn Balor for the tag titles before.

Good fun overall, but it’s more likely that Awesome Truth is here for a good time, not a long time, so enjoy that WrestleMania moment.
