6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE WrestleMania 40 - Night 2 (Results & Review)

Downs…

4. At Least Fans Could Yell ‘Yeah!’

WWE WrestleMania XL AJ Styles LA Knight
WWE

LA Knight is a fascinating character and case study. He’s incredibly over with fans in the arena, and they remain in his corner throughout everything. But when the bell rings, they might be with him, chanting “Yeah!” for every offensive move, but there just isn’t a ton of substance to his matches.

Knight and AJ Styles had what could best be described as a two-and-three-quarter-star SmackDown main event as the culmination of their feud… only at WrestleMania. It wasn’t a bad match, with a series of back-and-forth heat segments, trading of finishers and a plethora of “Yeah!” for every punch, kick and slam of AJ’s head on the announce desk.

Still, it was just a match, a relatively inconsequential one unless you were deeply invested in this rivalry. For the record, Knight finally got his WrestleMania match and win in a nice nod to a guy who was once unceremoniously turned into a manager. But that was about it. Next.
