6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE WrestleMania Backlash

1. Zombies. No, Seriously.

If you had “zombie lumberjacks” on your WWE bingo card, well, you probably should be drug tested. As should every WWE writer right now.

Miz and Damian Priest’s blowoff match, which was supposed to have WWE superstars lining the ring, instead had zombies surrounding it… because Batista is starring in Army of the Dead, you see. Yep, it was a movie crossover for a retired wrestler who hasn’t appeared in WWE for two years. And Priest and Miz had to sell it like it was the real deal.

This isn’t like Undertaker conjuring spirits or even The Fiend’s mystic crap. It literally was a movie crossover, that’s all. So fans weren’t asked to believe in an in-universe storyline. They were asked to accept a movie had come to life in WWE.

Kudos to Miz, Priest and John Morrison for playing along, but what a stupid and horrible way to blow off this feud. It even ended with Miz being “devoured” by a bunch of zombies. Because why not?
