6 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dark (Nov 17)

1. He Stole One!

Christopher Daniels Jack Evans
AEW

Jack Evans and Christopher Daniels are two solid old pros who know exactly what they're doing, and worked a perfectly sound main event match with a clear face/heel dynamic. Frankie Kazarian wanted whatever happened to be fair, so he tried to neutralise Angelico on the outside, while the heels would take a victory by any means necessary. An easy story executed well.

Until the finish.

Angelic grabbed CD's foot as he hit the ropes, causing a distraction and allow Evans to score a backslide for the pin. Excalibur's call? "Jack Evans and Angelico steal one!". So not only did we get the most WWE finish imaginable but the exact WWE call as well.

AEW rarely does this, and that it took place on Dark means it doesn't matter as much, but this is exactly the kind of thing that the promotion aims to establish itself as the alternative to. May it never happen again.
