6 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dark (Nov 17)

2. Spinning Wheels

Lance Archer
AEW

Lance Archer cut a solid enough promo after launching jobber Joey O'Riley out of the ring early on Dark, promising to lay everyone in AEW down to sleep, while Peter Avalon returned with another of his creepy vignettes later in the show, attempting to seduce the person behind the camera before getting booted out of the Uber rideshare he had presented as an exclusive trip.

While the Archer segment was significantly stronger than Avalon's, both were unfocused. For Lance, this is likely a consequence of having his planned World Title feud with Jon Moxley cancelled, while Avalon's presentation offers no clear idea of where, exactly, this new character is headed, and has systematically failed to give audiences reasons to invest in it since debuting.

Sadly, both felt like filler. These men need a purpose - and fast.
