6 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Dec 23)

1. The Young Bucks Vs The Acclaimed

This ruled.

Dominating early to make it clear just exactly who the f*ck they were, The Young Bucks' typically exquisite double teams were on point as The Acclaimed struggled to keep up.

When they did - through an Anthony Bowens counter - it again wasn't for a period of offence that lasted for too long. Typical of Matt and Nick Jackson's surgical understanding of dynamic tag action, this highlighted a failing of newcomers' match with SCU this week and ensured there wouldn't be any of that drag here.

More proper tag moves followed as the match hit the extra gear all main events ideally should, before Bowens went careering through a table on the floor in order to leave Max Caster prone for the BTE Trigger.

An excellent piece of business, this shut the mouths of the heels to force a rethink, while doggedly continuing the story of The Bucks shaping the division in their image. It served as an immensely satisfying way to send the show off the air too, possibly foreshadowing that 2021 may finally be the year the brothers get their pay-per-view main event.
