6 Ups & 5 Downs From Impact Wrestling (19 Jan)
Private Party step up, Taya Valkyrie is arrested, and Brian Myers' streak continues.
Impact Wrestling's first show after the truly phenomenal Hard To Kill pay-per-view needed to be great. Seeing constant tweets prior to the show hyping the show as being a "can't miss" episode built anticipation. Why was it can't miss, though?
Because Matt Hardy and Jerry Lynn returned, Private Party debuted, and Tony Khan appeared in the Impact Zone for the first time.
That's how you come off the back of a remarkable pay-per-view. You could have quite rightly assumed the Impact/AEW relationship would have ended after Kenny Omega's involvement at Saturday's event, but seeing Hardy and his boys enter the Impact Zone early on in the show proved that point to be further from the truth. Private Party's match against Chris Sabin and James Storm was excellent, too. A fine debut performance from Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy.
Elsewhere on the show, Taya Valkyrie was revealed to be the mastermind behind the 'Who Shot Bravo?' saga, Brian Myers' winning streak continued, Josh Alexander cut a fire promo towards Ace Austin and Madman Fulton, Violent By Design focused their attack on Rhino's ankle, and Susan made her in-ring debut alongside Kimber Lee.
It was a banger of an episode, despite what the Ups to Downs ratio may tell you. Let's get to it...
