6 Ups & 5 Downs From Impact Wrestling (19 Jan)

5. A Needed Change

Tony Khan and Tony Schiavone's paid advertisements continued this week, with a change that was massively needed to avoid the ads becoming beyond stale. That change? Khan actually being in the Impact Zone as opposed to the AEW control center, where Schiavone remained. Joined by former X Division Champion Jerry Lynn, AEW's head honcho explained Matt Hardy's return to Impact Wrestling was an answer to The Good Brothers invading Dynamite the past few weeks.

While Schiavone did stay in his usual role of running down the Dynamite card for tonight's episode, the change from Khan and the addition of Lynn were great. Minor changes, but necessary ones. That 'TK' has a bigger onscreen presence in Impact rather than AEW is actually a great feat. He promised to never be a fully-blossomed onscreen authority figure in All Elite Wrestling - he never said anything about Impact because, until now, it's something that we never thought possible.

To cut a long story short; these changes to the paid ads are great. Long may they continue, perhaps with Khan bringing a different former Impact star with him each week.
