6 Ups & 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Nov 27)
3. Braun & Kane Flip The Script
Taken in isolation, last night's interactions between Braun Strowman and Kane were fine. 'The Monster Among Men' obliterated the former 'Demon' after his match with Finn Bálor. He saved the Irishman from a beatdown, no-sold a chairshot, then battered Kane with the ring steps, closing the scene by crushing his throat with a steel chair. It was a great spectacle, as is always the case when Strowman wrecks things, and it closed the show with a relatively big talking point.
The problem is that we've seen it all before. Last night's segment was a direct rewrite of what we saw seven days prior, only with the roles reversed. Strowman was the victim last week, but the aggressor this time, and while him getting revenge fits WWE's 50/50 format, the lack of creativity is astounding.
Last week saw WWE rightly criticised for booking a carbon copy of Paige, Sonya Deville, and Mandy Rose's Raw debut with Ruby Riot, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan 24 hours later on SmackDown. Segments like this Braun/Kane fight only further the notion that their creative department is out of ideas.
