6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Bad Blood (Results & Review)
3. House Show Tag With Some Pizazz
Let’s face it: the main event tag between the Bloodline and Roman Reigns & Cody Rhodes was mostly a pedestrian melodrama with very basic offense, up until the closing moments.
But match quality wasn’t the driving force here. It was the story of Cody and Roman being forced to team up to take down their mutual enemies, the new Bloodline. Even with the two megastars teamed up, they still found themselves in a deficit. Cody took out Jacob Fatu with a splash through the announce table, leaving Roman with Solo Sikoa… and the Tongans.
Reigns seemed about to fall victim to the same numbers game that benefited him for years, until Jimmy Uso resurfaced to take out Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa, allowing Roman to put Solo down with a spear.
The match itself was fine overall, but it thrived on the strength of the drama and the show of Roman returning to action and then reuniting with his cousin Jimmy. Reigns and Uso coming to Cody’s aid afterward was also a nice show of respect, indicating that the Original Tribal Chief might not be a pure “good guy,” but he’s true to his word.
