6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Bad Blood (Results & Review)
4. Gunther Continues To Be Gold On The Mic
One of the most surprising stories of the last year-plus has to be Gunther’s success… as a promo guy.
Widely regarded as one of the best wrestlers in the industry, Gunther was on no one’s radar as a top guy on the mic a couple of years ago. But the Ring General has become so comfortable with the stick that it’s almost scary, like he was hiding this skill the whole time.
At Bad Blood, Gunther continued this trend as he tried to put over the gaudy Crown Jewel Championship by noting that Triple H had handed him the King of the Ring crown the last time they were in Saudi Arabia, and he would award him that title in four weeks when they return to the kingdom.
Gunther then took a swipe at Sami Zayn before attacking hometown hero Goldberg, prompting the events previously described. Aside from that though, he riled up the fans, who exploded when Sami Zayn attacked the World Heavyweight Champion and chased him to the back.
Although their world title match wasn’t taking place at the PLE, they managed to make it a hot ticket and generate interest in their clash on Raw Monday night.
