4. Hell Of A Sell-Job For Title Match

In some ways, Raw writers had their work cut out for them with the Women’s Tag Team Championship picture, but what we got Monday night was disappointing.

Coming off a loss in NXT Underground at Battleground 24 hours earlier, Shayna Baszler had to rebuild her image as a killer before facing a dominant tag team in Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair at Clash at the Castle. The solution was to have her and Zoey Stark demolish Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn in seconds Monday night, despite the fact the Scots are also in the tag title match on Saturday… in their home country.

So, you have Shayna, who lost a UFC-style fight to a developmental wrestler with far less MMA experience, destroying a team that has gotten next-to-no TV exposure the past year ahead of what will probably be their one PLE match of 2024, heading into a three-way tag title match against a near-unbeatable tandem.

You can see what they were going for here, but it scanned really desperate. If this was the case and Shayna had to lose to Lola Vice at Battleground, don’t book Baszler and Stark for the tag titles just yet and let her build back up quickly as a threat.

As it stands now, the hometown favorites are the punching bag heading into the PLE.

Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
