6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (11 Sept)

3. A New Beast In The Women’s Division

Nia Jax made her return to WWE Monday night, and it was quite the impactful return.

Raw was winding down with a mediocre Women’s World Championship match between Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez when Jax appeared and laid out the challenger, allowing Ripley to pick up the win. Moments later, Nia headbutted, leg-dropped and Banzai-dropped Rhea to stake make her intentions clear.

There’s a lot of negative things you can say about Jax, who was released nearly two years ago. But one thing she brings to the table is her size. At the time of her 2021 release, she was unique in the women’s division, the biggest woman on the roster, making it difficult to buy many credibly challenging her.

Fast-forward to today and you’ve got both women in the title match and Piper Niven who can match her size and strength. Then you’ve got Becky Lynch, Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark who can hang with her. While Jax undoubtedly will be portrayed as a beast, she should be able to have more credible matches with opponents.

Call this a cautiously optimistic view of the returning Jax.
