6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (11 Sept)

5. Hey! A Women’s Tag Feud!

Zoey Stark Piper Niven Shayna Baszler

Who would have thought that there could be foresight and planning in the WWE women’s tag division?

But then Monday night saw Shayna Baszler vanquishing Chelsea Green in short order, only to get pummeled by Piper Niven, which brought out Zoey Stark for the save. Seeing Stark return the mutual respect from last week by saving Shayna was a basic piece of linear plotting, but still something that WWE rarely bothers with in their women’s tag division.

This naturally should set up a tag title match between challengers who have never tagged before, and the champs, who have tagged exactly once.

Baby steps, everyone, baby steps.

At least the challengers came together over the course of two weeks rather than that vaunted tandem of Dana Brooke & Tegan Nox from the tag turmoil match in July.
