4. Too Little, Too Late?

Monday night, we finally got a video package highlighting Candice LeRae, giving fans a bit of substance to sink their teeth into about the Poison Pixie.

But this was a video package that came eight months after LeRae returned to WWE. Eight months and 15 televised matches later, we finally got a video package explaining who Candice is. And even then, it was all centred on the fair wings she wears and why, rather than an actual promo about herself and who she is.

Video packages – which WWE excels at – are a smart, simple way to introduce a character and explain who they are and their motivations. It can be very effective at conveying a lot of information in a short, concentrated manner, and one that can be reposted on social media several times to reinforce the message.

This was a nice idea, but it’s coming way too late, and it wasn’t all that deep either. Poor Candice deserves so much better treatment.
