6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (April 18)

1. No Lie, This Was A Fun Segment

On paper, there’s no reason that the Ezekiel lie detector segment should have been as fun as it was. And yet, here we are.

Kevin Owens has been on a crusade to prove that Ezekiel really is Elias and not the troubadour’s younger brother. That led us to a lie detector test Monday night that could have easily gone off the rails, but it was saved by the strong performances of KO and Chad Gable, who ran the test.

Both heels lost it at different points, with Gable going off about Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson to keep that rivalry on fans’ minds. Owens at that point tried to refocus Chad by pointing out that he was paying him “$160 Canadian,” which for some reason was just hilarious.

Of course, the gag was that Ezekiel beat the lie detector, which showed he was telling the truth about who he was.

The match afterwards against Gable was still the same lacklustre Elias (which is the real crime here, that being away from TV for months didn’t result in him getting any better), but we’ll still give this positive marks overall.
