6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (April 18)

1. Brood 2.0

Oh dear God, they’re going all-in with this, aren’t they?

Monday, Edge and Damian Priest didn’t just explain the reasoning for their spooky powers in recent weeks – they doubled down on them. In a backstage promo, Edge talked about his time in the Brood and Ministry of Darkness as formative years and powers that lay dormant for some time, only now coming out as he’s living up to his potential.

Edge then challenged AJ Styles to a rematch at WrestleMania Backlash, which is odd considering the Rated-R Superstar won at Mania.

Later, AJ was giving a response in the locker room when the lights started flickering – oooh, spooky stuff! – and Edge and Priest appeared for the beatdown.

So when Edge and Styles have their match at Backlash, Edge is just going to teleport around the ring, right? He’s going to disappear or use his dark powers to overcome AJ… or is he going to sell a clothesline?

This is why the spooky stuff doesn’t work here. Once you teleport, you’re just asking for those questions to crop up.
