6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (May 2)

5. OK, This Might Work

Ezekiel Street Profits

For the past few weeks, Kevin Owens has been getting the idea that Ezekiel really is Elias’ younger brother over as a story, in spite (or is it because?) of how absurd it is.

Monday, we saw the two come face-to-face in a six-man tag match that also featured Alpha Academy and Street Profits. After KO had thrown Ezekiel’s red Solo cup and its liquid at him earlier, the newcomer certainly wanted revenge, and he got it for a minute via hot tag, finally pummeling Owens.

But that comeuppance was short-lived, as Owens used his cunning to trip Ezekiel from the outside, directly leading to Chad Gable grabbing a deep cradle for the pin. So now KO has cost Ezekiel a match after doubting who he is and embarrassing him.

It isn’t Shakespeare, but it certainly works. If Owens keeps the pressure on – in addition to raging about whether he’s really Elias – this could actually be a fun little angle and eventual match between the two.
