2. A Sprint Squash
Squash matches involving big men don’t always need to be slow, plodding affairs where the behemoth lands a handful of impactful moves before nailing his finisher to middling applause. They can be fun, energetic and even fast-paced.
Witness Bronson Reed versus Cedric Alexander, a match whose outcome was never in doubt. Alexander attacked right at the bell, and rather than immediately getting flattened, he managed to knock Reed to the floor, then take him down with a pair of dives before heading back inside, where he hit the Neuralizer for a near-fall.
But then it was all Bronson, who obliterated Cedric with a crossbody, a senton, and then a Tsunami. The entire match was well under two minutes, but it was all action that showed Alexander hitting a flurry of offense but just being overcome by the much bigger – but still quick – Reed.
In doing this sprint squash, Bronson looked more impressive than if he just levelled Cedric at the bell and hit his finisher in 30 seconds. And Alexander at least looked game, even if he was overmatched. A perfectly good use of TV time.
