6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (Oct 2 - Results & Review)

3. Is He A Bad Guy? A Good Guy? Or Just A Guy?

The Miz Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre’s expected heel turn is looking more and more like an ocean liner trying to do a U-turn than anything else at this point.

The Scottish Warrior continued slapping hands with fans and giving calm (for professional wrestling) explanations for his refusal to save others from attacks recently. He argued with hated heel Miz and then destroyed him in a three-minute match Monday night.

But McIntyre also used a shortcut to win. And Miz’s promo actually got to the root of Drew’s turn, noting that the Scot thinks he’s the hero, justified in his actions, when he should just embrace the direction in which he’s headed. In this scenario, it’s easy to picture a little Miz in a devil costume sitting on Drew’s shoulder prodding him.

And yet, McIntyre still battered Miz. He only used the exposed turnbuckle after Miz started to rip off the pad. And he continued to pander to the fans. This eventually is going to boil over for Drew and he’s going to turn his back on the fans and fully accept the new career direction, but there are definitely layers here, which hopefully makes for a more compelling character when it’s all said and done.
